What’s in a name? Why, everything! It’s your first point of identity as a person – or as a business. And we just started a business, a children’s bookstore on wheels. I have this dream of increasing access to great books for the children - and the grown-ups that love them - in our community with our mobile bookshop. I want every child to be represented in the books we carry on our customized van. Books can inspire new ways to build our imagination and can encourage our curiosity about the world around us. Books are magical and can transport you to places you’ve only dreamed of, make you laugh at the most absurd idea, or introduce you to people you’ve only imagined.
A wish is a “desire or a hope for something to happen.” What do you wish for? Often in stories, magic happens in 3’s. With Three Wishes in our name, the magic is sure to happen! For our shop's three wishes, we wish: 1) to widen a child's view of the world, 2) to inspire tomorrow's leaders; and 3) to shine a light on diverse people, cultures and issues to make our world a kinder and more peaceful place to live. We will drive our mobile bookshop around the community, share the latest titles with kids and parents, and generate so much book love. And through our "sunshine crates" - gently used books donated to our shop and given away for free - every child has access to books. If you had three wishes, what would they be?
